New Environment Style
After my final presentation I was told, and I agreed that my environments and my characters still did not form a proper dialogue. So I thought that the addition of the same style of sketchy lines along with a darker palette might help. Truthfully I think it does work better.

Sorry for Lack of Posts
As the course came to the temporal critique I really started focusing on organizing my presentation and less on creating new content. I suppose I could have updated with my inspirations and stuff of that nature, but I did so much of that in the first part of the course I was hesitant to do so again. So instead I guess this is a "We'll see how the presentation goes" post. Hopefully it goes well.

New Kiera
These are my finished Kiera Pieces. Layout may very well be an issue I need to work out, but going over it this Thursday will be helpful.

Kiera's New Design
This is my new design for Kiera using my new looser style.
Unfortunately I seem unable to match the same style and form I have with the above image.

Animations Plus Character Sheets
These are my new character sheets for the Ringleader. The Kiera ones are my next objective.
These are my animations demonstrating two basic game mechanics without the use of a heads up display that may clutter the screen or hinder immersion into the game, because atmosphere is crucial for a horror game.

Character Development
I realized that even though I've been working on the game itself and the environments, I have yet to update my character sketches. So I've decided to turn my attention towards that for the next few days, or till I finish updating and completing a character sheet for the Ringleader and Kiera.

Heads Up Display
This is my "finished" game mechanics sheet. I have several "screen caps" to display different parts of the gaming experience, but I'm not sure whether to leave them separate or incorporate them into the single document.
This is the Journal/Objective page. The game is rated T to M so there is mature language.
This indicates low health by using the existent paw and applying cuts to indicate damage.
The paw is lower and the vision is starting to blur, so Rudolf is probably tired and possibly sleepy.

Hallucinogenic Creatures and Game Mechanics
These are some designs for creatures to populate my hallucinogenic forest.
A basic idea of some game mechanics and a rough draft of the heads up display to get a better idea of how the game would work.

New Work
The first one is a quick monster sketch of a Cerberus, trying out the silhouette style and the use of loose lines versus blocking colors to sketch them.
The other images are scenery sketches other then all the carnival ones.

Style Questions
I'm formulating my questions to ask to try and get a better idea of what my issue is.
The style between the characters and environment clash...why?
-Is the issue in the painterly style of the environment versus the use of lineart with the characters?
-Do the color schemes clash? Should I mute the character colors more?
-Is it the lighting? Should I add shading and lighting similar to the environment?
-Are they not creepy enough to match the environment? Would simply making them scarier or creepier fix the issue?
-Are the characters too cartoony for the environment?
-How do you know when two objects have a "dialogue" with one another? What is this "dialogue" that artists talk about?
About the animation:
-Do they need to be finalized in After Effects?
-How detailed and professional an animation are you expecting?

Silhouette Style
I drew sketches on how a silhouette style might work. Though in hindsight maybe I should have shaded them in...

Ringleader
These are some sketches I did to scarify (and I shall make up words for I am not an English major) the Ringleader based on what both the class suggested and a bit of refining based on Mike Conway's advice.

Rudolf, Concept Art
These two are things done based on Rudolf's new design I made. The left is his point of view while the right is an updated version of my environment design.
This is a digital lineart piece I did for Rudolf and I tried doing a back-coloring to see how it'd look.
Here I tried coloring his clothing. I changed his red shirt to orange because I felt a Halloween color-scheme might be more appropriate for the setting.
This is my Concept Sheet rough draft I did for Rudolf. I know I left his fur uncolored, but I feel the under-coloring of grey works well to do so and looks better than actually coloring the fur. As for the typography, I know my professor will ask my I chose that one. Well I did look for a "scary" style but they would be too thin to really show or look good. And a childish design seemed appropriate for his design, but not for the setting. But since the setting is a book-world, I felt a literature based type, an old style of literature and not the newer serif styles, was appropriate and I feel like it works best. I do know that there is a lot of empty space at the bottom I need to tighten up, but I also know I need to include his tools, ie his lamp and perhaps the book.
